Recycle. Upcycle. Repurpose.

I prefer Reinvent.

Ultimately they all mean the same thing. I love the idea of taking something old or unloved, something that has a bit of character, and breathing new life into it. Whether it's taking a traditional style chair and reupholstering it in a contemporary fabric, or using an old bottle to make a modern lamp, I love the fusion of old meets new.

That said, I love contemporary design too! Design is moving in an exciting direction with laser cutters and 3d printers no longer restricted to the commercial market and I find it interesting to explore how it can be incorporated into new ideas.
